Ciaran provided a superb paella on Saturday 12 July for about 30 plot holders and their families. It was a warm sunny late afternoon and a great opportunity to christen our new gazebo.
This page is intended for plot holders who are considering growing a new crop and are interested in suggestions as to the variety that they should plant. Over time it is hoped that the experienced growers in our Assocition will contribute with their favourite crop varieties and the time of year that they plant them.
Each schedule will use the following notations:
CRR - Club Root Resistent ( some of our plots are susceptible to Club Root)
BR - Blight Resistant ( especially tomatoes)
INDOORS - Start off seeds indoors where temperature does not fall below 18 degrees
Greenhouse - Start off seeds in a greenhouse for later planting out
*Frost Protect* - protect against frost with fleece
** FROST AVOID** - do not plant out in May until there are no more frosts
Where to find horse manure
Our Community Plot
We have a designated Community Plot which forms a good base for our bbqs and other gatherings. The plot itself is used to grow flowers for charitable purposes.
